Before yesterday's match both sets of players, staff and supporters paid their respects to Dave Clark. Dave was a long time supporter of non-league and grassroots football in West Berkshire, and often followed Thatcham home and away. Everyone at Thatcham Town's thoughts are with his family and friends. Thatcham and Cirencester had played each other twice this season, with Thatcham winning the FA trophy tie and Cirencester beating the Kingfishers in the league. Any points at this stage of the season would be vital, especially as both teams were pushing for a play-off place.
