Southern League Preview: Evesham United vs Thatcham Town

Town are back on the road in this weekend to face Evesham United (Saturday, 3:00PM kick-off)

The Kingfishers return to league action after a difficult Challenge Cup exit to the hands of Winchester City in their last match.

Evesham, however, swept aside Bristol Manor Farm aside 3-0 in their most recent outing and sit fourth in the division.

The Blues are the only team in the league to remain unbeaten as they currently fly high in second place.

Only five points separate themselves from Frome Town in the position above, although Thatcham have four games in hand over their league rivals.

A win for the Blues could also push further distance between themselves and Paulton Rovers. Paulton currently sit third in the table but are four points adrift of Town with Thatcham holding a game in hand over the Rovers.

One player who will not be present with Danny Robinson’s squad for Saturday’s game is Tom Melledew, who recently completed his permanent move to Binfield FC.
