Thatcham ended a run of five defeats with an emphatic win over previously unbeaten Willand Rovers

Yash Romeo made a number of changes, with Oli Bourne and Sam Tanner unavailable and Tinashe Gwavava out through injury. Mo Ceesay dropped into the centre of defence and Josiah Dunstan came back in, allowing Roberto Nditi to push into midfield. Meanwhile there were debuts for new signings Zion Nditi and Alfie Bridgman.

The Kingfishers took a 6th minute lead as a nice passing move ended with Shamar Moore finding Kyle Daniel-Spray who finished into the roof of the net.

Bridgman saw a free-kick whistle just over the bar, then on 24 minutes Moore was tripped in the area and picked himself up to convert the penalty.

The visitor had their chances, with Owen Howe and Fin Rooke going close, before Ross Edwards thumped a header against the crossbar.

But just before the break, Town were controversially reduced to ten when Moore was red carded. The striker had earlier been booked for dissent, but was harshly issued a second yellow for a supposed high foot.

After losing games from leading positions in each of the last three home games, there was no sign of any jitters as Harry Thorpe made it three on 51 minutes with a fine low finish following a weaving run.

Callum Smart then made a great save to deny River Allen who found space in the box, then the ten men of Thatcham broke to score a fourth.

Callum Willmoth found Bridgman down the left who played an inviting cross-field ball into the path of Thorpe. Both the Thatcham forward and the outrushing keeper George Burton perhaps distracted each other and both missed the ball, allowing Roberto Nditi to roll the ball into an unguarded net.

Rovers then grabbed a last minute consolation when Ryan Guppy blasted home from 20 yards.
