MATCH REPORT : Thatcham Town 1 - 2 Evesham United

Kingfishers defeated at the death

Thatcham suffered another kick in the teeth as Evesham scored twice in injury time to progress in the FA Trophy.

The FA had ordered the tie to be replayed after Evesham were found to have fielded an ineligible player in the first playing, which the visitors had won 4-2.

A different outcome looked likely as Town held the lead going in to time added on, but the Robins struck through Levi Steele (90+3) and Harry White (90+7) to stun the Kingfishers.

In what had been an even contest as a whole, Thatcham took the lead on 49 minutes when the visiting goalkeeper spilled a cross under pressure from Shamar Moore, and Sam Tanner tucked home the loose ball.

In the first-half Tinashe Gwavava, Kyle Daniel-Spray and Kyle Tooze had efforts saved, while Evesham came the closest to scoring when a corner was headed against the underside of the crossbar in the opening minutes.
