Jamie had a distinguished non-league playing career having started out in the Crystal Palace Academy and has played all the way up to Step 1. Jamie has also represented Thatcham Town and been captain for a number of seasons.
He then settled into a coaching career and was part of the Hungerford Town team that got promoted up into the National League South working as the Assistant to Bobby Wilkinson.
When Bobby left the club for Wealdstone in 2017 – Jamie went across with him where they reached the Semi Finals of the FA Trophy in their first season. They also led Wealdstone to the National League playoffs.
Having left Wealdstone in 2019, Jamie then sought the opportunity to try and become a Number 1 and was approached to take over at Northwood who had a disastrous start to the season and were bottom of their league. After a string of wins initially and jumping off the foot of the table, the side went into a difficult period around Christmas and whilst still outside the relegation zone, the club decided to part with Jamie.
Jamie comes to us fresh and eager to work at a club he holds in very high regard having also lived in Thatcham for a number of years. His local knowledge and experience at this and higher levels of non-league football will stand him in good stead, and he brings with him a strong backroom team who also have connections to the club and are familiar faces.
“We were very impressed with his desire and motivation which showed throughout the whole interview process” said club Chairman Dave Melin, “Jamie also presented to us his observations and recommendations not only around the club but also around Non-League football in general.”
“Whilst we had some very strong candidates for the role, Jamie demonstrated the knowledge and skills he has acquired over the past 6 years which we believe will be invaluable to the club moving forwards and we look forward to a long and successful relationship with the club.”
