Thatcham’s long-standing rivalry with Hungerford Town continues as both sides look to progress to the second round of the competition.
The hosts have made an impressive start to the 2019/20 campaign as the Blues sit second in the league, with only Frome in front with four games in hand, after an formidable unbeaten run in domestic fixtures thus far.
Despite a consistent run of form, Danny Robinson’s side were unable to progress to the next stage of the FA Trophy after a 5-0 defeat to Enfield Town in their last outing.
Hungerford, who play their football in the Vanarama National League South division, have struggled in league action so far this term and currently sit 20th in the table.
The Berkshire-based side did, however, record a convincing 3-0 win over Braintree Town in their last league fixture so the visitors will be fuelled with confidence approaching Tuesday’s game.
Both sides will have familiar faces on show; Conor Lynch, Liam Ferdinand and Zidan Akers all played for Thatcham but have since moved to Hungerford while Paul Strudley, Callum Willmoth, Matt Day, Gareth Thomas, Jack Alexander, Scott Rees and Matthew Partridge have all joined made the reverse switch in recent seasons.
Partridge, Jack Stanley, Jon Beeden and Joe Selman will be missing for the fixture with Curtis Angell and Sam Barder also doubtful.
